Terms of use
These are the terms for using Quizzoo, the quiz game at quizzoo.co.uk, and the pages of quiz questions beside it. They are short and written to be read. By using Quizzoo you agree to them.

Using Quizzoo
Quizzoo is free to play. There is no account to make and nothing to install.
It is made for children aged 5 to 14 and for the grown-ups who play with them. If you are a child, ask a grown-up before you use any website, this one included.
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Quizzoo, which makes and runs this site.
What you may do
Play as often as you like, on your own or with others.
Read the question pages aloud or print them, for use at home, in a classroom or at a club.
Link to Quizzoo and share it.
What we ask you not to do
Do not copy the game or its question pages in bulk to publish or sell them somewhere else, and do not present Quizzoo's work as your own.
Do not try to break the site, overload it or get round its safeguards.
Questions and answers
Every topic has been checked with care, and the About page says how. Mistakes can still happen. Quizzoo is for fun and practice. It does not replace a teacher, and nobody should rely on it for a decision that matters.
If you spot a mistake, please ask a grown-up to tell us on the Quizzoo Facebook page. The round Facebook button at the foot of this page leads there.
Your progress and your privacy
Players and their progress are saved in the web browser of the device you play on. Visits are counted with Google Analytics, and only after a grown-up says yes to cookies. The About page explains this in full.
A grown-up can change the cookie choice at any time: press Cookie choices at the foot of this page. If you think Quizzoo has handled information wrongly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the regulator for data protection in the United Kingdom.
Who owns what
The Quizzoo name, the logo, the game and the question pages belong to Quizzoo. You are welcome to use them in the ways set out above.
The one exception is the work by other creators described in the next section. It stays under its own licence, and nothing in these terms limits what that licence lets you do with it.
Work by other creators
The game, its questions and its design are Quizzoo's own. Some of the raw material was made by other people, who share their work for anyone to use under open licences: the flag drawings, the picture symbols by Microsoft, the line icons and the typefaces, one of them from the Braille Institute.
The outline of the world map is by Victor Cazanave, based on a map by MapSVG, and is shared under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. The list of countries and capitals comes from an open database, world-countries, which is shared under the Open Database License. The spelling words come from the national curriculum in England and contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Our thanks go to all of them. Every creator, licence and notice is set out in full in the licence notices.
Links to other places
The Facebook buttons lead to Quizzoo's page and group on Facebook. Facebook has its own terms and does not allow anyone under 13 to have an account. Quizzoo looks after its own page and group, but it does not control the rest of Facebook.
What it costs
Quizzoo is free to play. To pay for its upkeep it may one day carry adverts suitable for children, or offer optional plans for families or schools.
Changes
The game and these terms may change. The date on this page says when the terms last changed.
We work to keep Quizzoo running and right, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Nothing in these terms takes away any right the law gives you.
Getting in touch
To ask about these terms, or to report something that should not be on Quizzoo, a grown-up can send a message to the Quizzoo Facebook page. The round Facebook button at the foot of this page leads there.
