Meet Saturn
Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second biggest. Like Jupiter, it is a gas giant.
The rings
Saturn is famous for its big, bright rings. Saturn's rings are made of countless chunks of ice and rock, some as big as a house. Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune have rings too. Saturn's are just the biggest and brightest.
Would Saturn float?
Saturn is less dense than water. Saturn is mostly light gases. In a bath big enough to hold it, it would float.
Moons
Saturn has more known moons than any other planet: more than 270.
Its biggest moon, Titan, is the only moon with a thick atmosphere. Titan has clouds, rain, rivers, lakes and seas, but they are made of liquids like methane, not water.
Exploring Saturn
The Cassini spacecraft spent 13 years exploring Saturn. At the end of its mission in 2017, Cassini dived into Saturn on purpose.
